About Rashmi Parmar, M.D.

Dr. Parmar is a double board-certified psychiatrist in Adult and Child Psychiatry. She earned her medical degree at Terna Medical College & Hospital in Mumbai, India. Thereafter, she completed general psychiatry training at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center program, TX, followed by the Child & Adolescent Psychiatry fellowship training at Hofstra Northwell Health program, NY. Her training has equipped her to comfortably manage a diverse array of patients from all age groups with a wide range of psychiatric conditions. Her treatment philosophy involves making the patient/ families feel heard and understood while helping them tailor their treatment goals. She educates her patients to make well-informed treatment choices and believes in achieving the overall well-being of an individual rather than targeting just the illness itself. She is well attuned to her patient’s cultural needs and tries her best to reduce stigma and prejudice related to mental illness.

In her spare time, Dr. Parmar enjoys reading, cooking, traveling and spending time with family/friends.
