About Amanda Horrocks, PMHNP

Amanda Horrocks, DNP, NP is a board-certified Family Psychiatric and Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, who has been practicing since 2010. Amanda completed her Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) degree in May of 2017 from the California State University, Northern California Consortium, Doctor of Nursing Practice Program. Amanda specializes in medication management for children, adolescents, and young adults. She completed her master’s degree at the University of California, San Francisco in 2010, and has spent her career as an NP working in rural upstate New York and in the greater Sacramento area. During this time, Amanda has gained experience working with children, adolescents, and young adults with an array of mental health concerns including, but not limited to: mood disorders, attention deficit with hyperactivity disorder, depression, anxiety, post-traumatic stress disorder, bipolar disorder, oppositional defiant disorder, Asperger’s and autism spectrum. She enjoys working as a collaborative partner with the patients and families that she journeys with.  Prior to becoming a nurse practitioner, Amanda worked for 8 years as an RN in various capacities. Amanda enjoys swimming, gardening, and reading as hobbies and is a perpetual learner. Amanda spends a lot of her free time volunteering with the teens of her church community.
