About Whitney Andrew, PAC
Whitney Andrew received her B.S degree from NCSU in 2001 and her M.S. degree from Elon University in 2015. She initially practiced as a PA in oncology; but became fascinated with how mental health can positively or negatively impact physical health, so she decided to transition to psychiatry. Whitney is passionate about helping patients with chronic and terminal illnesses live their best lives and about helping people learn to cope with mental illness and live well. Whitney’s philosophy is that she and her patients are a team working together to find the modalities they need to thrive. She cares about each patient, listens well, and enjoys working with her patients to figure out what works best for them.Whitney finds the following quotes inspiring: “If we start being honest about our pain, our anger, and our shortcomings instead of pretending they don’t exist, then maybe we’ll leave the world a better place than we found it” (Russel Wilson); “The only thing more exhausting than having a mental illness is pretending like you don’t” (unknown); “Fear is a reaction, courage is a decision” (Gina Rodriguez); and “Don’t miss out on something amazing just because it could also be difficult” (unknown).
