About Timothy Murphy, M.D.

Timothy Murphy is passionate about educating and advocating for improved mental health care for all citizens. Dr. Murphy specializes in children, adolescents, adults, and seniors suffering from anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, and obsessive compulsive disorder. He provides diagnostic evaluations and received training in psychopharmacology. Dr. Murphy encourages exercise as a method of treatment because its positive effects on physical and mental health. He received his bachelor’s in biophysics at University of California, Berkeley before completing his doctorate at Dartmouth College. Dr. Murphy completed his internship at Joint Base Andrew and worked as a general practitioner at Hanscom Air Force Base. He has held several leadership positions at the San Diego Psychiatric Society, California Psychiatric Association, San Diego County Behavioral Health Advisory Board, and the California Medical Association Specialty Delegation.
