About Tanvi Kohli, MD
Dr. Tanvi Kohli is board-certified in general psychiatry and specializes in treating mood, anxiety, and psychotic disorders in children and adolescents. Dr. Kohli focuses on psychoeducation, supportive therapy, and utilizes a biopsychosocial approach with patients. She considers the physician-patient relationship a team effort and works collaboratively with patients. Dr. Kohli is committed to providing quality care that is evidence-based and centered around her patients. Treatments include medication management, therapy, and psychoeducation. Her goal is to provide treatment that allows her patients to live a happier, well-functioning life. During her psychiatry rotation in medical school, Dr. Kohli enjoyed listening to patients and asking them questions to further understand and analyze their situations. The importance of a healthy mind is what drew her to psychiatry; how the mind controls everything, one's body, one's emotions, and, most importantly, one's ability to function. This taught Dr. Kohli the importance and necessity of psychiatric care, especially since mental health is often neglected. She is fluent in Hindi and values the importance of different experiences, including traveling to new places, trying new foods, and spending time with family and friends.Education & Certifications
