About Obianuju Rivera, PMHNP-BC

Uju is dual board-certified as a psychiatric mental health and family nurse practitioner. She has over 12 years of experience treating children, adolescents, and older adults with attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder, anxiety, bipolar disorder, depression, obsessive-compulsive disorder, post-traumatic stress disorder, pregnancy and postpartum conditions, and schizophrenia. Uju’s collaborative and personal approach empowers her patients to advocate actively in their treatment plans and addresses biological, psychological, and social determinants that may impact one’s health. Her treatment modalities include motivational interviewing, mindfulness, trauma-informed care, and behavioral health and lifestyle management. Uju has extensive experience working in underserved, rural communities with limited resource access. She enjoys hiking, trying new workouts, and reading in her free time.
