Staying true to her small Midwestern town roots, she takes a genuine interest in spending time getting to know her patients as a well-rounded person with interests, goals, and dreams. Through her medical training, volunteering, and life experience, Laura has witnessed the incredible resiliency of the human spirit, and how mental health directly impacts how we perceive and interact with the world around us, which she believes is a great indicator of its utmost importance. She strives to partner with patients, empower them to reach their full potential, and looks forward to seeing her patients grow, helping them to better understand the mind-body connection. She embodies an emphasis on whole-person care and attempts to address each biological, psychological and social "pillar" of health in her patient's care plans, from medication management to coordination of psychotherapy and lifestyle changes. She is a firm advocate in the philosophy that there is not a "one-size-fits-all" when it comes to healthcare, especially mental healthcare.
