About Kimberly Evans, MA, Ed.M, LCMHC
Ms. Evans knew from a young age that she wanted to be a mindcare provider. With over 12 years’ experience Kimberly is a passionate advocate for the development of comprehensive, actionable, and sustainable care for her patients. As a provider she prioritizes educating patients, contributing to their empowerment, and providing hope in the growth and healing process. From a standpoint of curiosity and collaboration, she draws on cultural experiences and innate abilities to foster patients’ trust in order to provide support, gain insight and find clear direction for effective change. Ms. Evans wants her patients to be their best, healthiest selves and sees therapeutic relationships as a vehicle for achieving that kind of growth and recovery from mental health disorders and symptoms.
She works with adults and specific populations that relate to her areas of specialty. When working with patients, Kimberly draws from multiple methods, including cognitive behavior therapy (CBT), solution-focused therapy, psychodynamic or insight-oriented therapy, narrative therapy, motivational interviewing and rational emotive behavior therapy (REBT). Her areas of specialty include women’s issues, such as issues relating to relationships, career, pregnancy, marriage, post-partum or infertility; racial, ethnic and cultural identity issues; assimilation and acculturation trauma; mood disorders, such as depression and anxiety, especially with women; unhealthy or destructive thought and behavior patterns, as well as intimate relationship or marital issues.
