About Judy Henderson, LCMHC, LCAS
Judy Henderson is dually licensed as a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor and Licensed Clinical Addictions Specialist. She also has a specialty certification as a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional. Judy received her bachelor’s degree in recreational therapy and her master’s degree in rehabilitation counseling at East Carolina University. She has over 35 years of experience working with individuals with mental health and substance use disorders. Judy offers individual psychotherapy and/or counseling to adults ages 18 to 65 dealing with depression, anxiety, substance use disorders, and mood disorders. She is trained in Heartmath and mindfulness, along with breathing and relaxation techniques. She utilizes individual therapy using a combination of cognitive-behavioral therapy, person-centered care, solution-focused brief therapy, and Motivational Interviewing approaches. Mental health has been Judy’s passion and mission for over 3 decades, and she enjoys providing support and psychotherapy that helps others find the courage to make changes that enhance their lives in an important and rewarding process.Education & Certifications
– Masters of Science in Rehabilitation Studies with a concentration in Rehabilitation Counseling from East Carolina University
– Bachelor of Science in Parks, Recreation, & Conservation with a Concentration in Therapeutic Recreation from East Carolina University
