About Joseph Hernandez, MD

Dr. Joseph Hernandez is dual board-certified in addiction medicine and general psychiatry. Dr. Hernandez’s modalities may include a combination of medication management, cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, and behavioral modification. He is also an LGBTQIA+ ally and supports diverse patient populations. Dr. Hernandez was inspired to become a psychiatrist to encourage people’s unlimited capacity to grow and change. He completed his residency and addiction medicine fellowship at Augusta University. Dr. Hernandez enjoys spending time with his family and two dachshunds.
 
Dr. Hernandez also treats opioid and alcohol use disorders with evidenced-based practice methods to achieve current and future sobriety, a return to health and wellness and improved daily life.
