About Jennifer Amos, MSN, PMHNP
Jennifer is a board-certified psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner with more than 10 years of experience. She treats anxiety disorders, mood disorders, psychotic disorders, post-traumatic stress disorder, and attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). Jennifer values patient-centered care and focuses on working collaboratively to develop each patient’s treatment plan. She considers family and personal history, biology, social environment, and the patient’s support network when caring for the patient’s unique needs. Jennifer believes that each person is more than their diagnosis. With a combination of medication management and therapy, they can achieve a better quality of life. She considers neuropsychological testing, reviewing medical records, and medical/cardiac clearance before prescribing stimulants to patients with ADHD. Jennifer has experience working with high-risk homeless populations and transitional youth in emergency services and outpatient psychiatry facilities. She has mentored young adults who are transitioning out of the foster care system and currently volunteers at her local Planned Parenthood. Jennifer enjoys hiking with her three dachshunds and watching Bravo TV.Education & Certifications
