About Dean Drosnes, M.D.

Dr. Dean Drosnes chose this field because of his strong personal family history of addiction. He is passionate about helping those with addiction to minimize their pain and suffering, and instead maximize their enjoyment of life. Dr. Drosnes understands that addiction is a complex disease that can be treated successfully for most patients. He states that lifelong recovery is achievable and sustainable. What differentiates Dr. Drosnes from other clinicians is his awareness of his limitations and lives by the quote; “you are only responsible for your effort, not the outcome”. Dr. Dean Drosnes earned his bachelor's in biochemistry at the University of Pittsburgh, his M.D. at Temple University, and his fellowship in Addiction Medicine at the University of Maryland. He has numerous Board Certifications including Otolaryngology/head and neck surgery and Addiction Medicine (American Board of Addiction Medicine and American Board of preventive medicine). His areas of expertise include substance use disorder and chronic pain.
