About David Mauro, MD

Dr. David Mauro is board-eligible in psychiatry and specializes in adults. His approach includes psychopharmacological management combined with psychotherapeutic approaches derived from goal-oriented, relational, and mindfulness-based cognitive therapies. Dr. Mauro believes psychiatry is one of the few medical fields in which a physician has the privilege to delve more deeply into multiple aspects of what constitutes the unique life of an individual. These include combinations of biological, psychological, or social elements. This paradigm fully resonates with his professional philosophy, which is to engage in every patient encounter holistically. Dr. Mauro provides a safe atmosphere where his patients can openly communicate and begin their healing process. In medical school, Dr. Mauro was involved in several musical groups. He played the trumpet, dabbled in a mariachi band, and was part of an acapella singing group “The Lymph Notes,” in which he was the "beat boxer.”

Dr. Mauro also treats opioid and alcohol use disorders with Buprenorphine and other evidenced-based practice methods to achieve current and future sobriety, a return to health and wellness, and improved daily life.
