About David Root, LMFT

David A. Root, LMFT is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist who provides therapy using a solution-based approach, with a focus on helping patients to be active in their own healing and growing process. He helps patients identify their strengths, build on them and use those strengths in therapy. He provides individual therapy for adults and older teens, children with their parents in the family therapy setting, and couples.

Personally, he was married for 46 years and is a widower. He has found counseling to be his source of purpose and meaning in life. David has a blended family consisting of four children from his wife’s first marriage, a birth son, and informally adopted daughter, and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He is also a lifelong Evangelical Christian and holds two theological degrees.
