About Carrie Moore, MSW, LCSW

Carrie is creative, dependable, and adaptable, and is dedicated to providing a supportive, safe, non-judgmental, and empathetic environment to allow for the processing needed for people to move forward in the most productive and effective way. Her therapeutic approach includes helping patients identify and highlight their strengths as a way to process trauma and life events, which also allows the opportunity to focus on future needs and outcomes. She primarily uses Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), a form of behavior and cognitive therapy aimed at assisting people in living a more rich and meaningful life by working toward the acceptance of that which is out of personal control and committing to actions that improve and enrich the quality of life that person wants to lead. Recognizing that each individual is an expert in their own life/experiences, she invites individuals to explore what has led them up to this point, and what direction they would like their life to go.

Our initial visit went great. I hope my mom keeps coming. We had family therapy where I was the primary patient and my mom wasn t a patient. The MondPath help line sent me an easy-to-use link that I sent to my mom. It was very easy!

Carrie Moore has been wonderful! Carrie has helped our family navigate some challenges and difficult life events. I think the two things that stand out are her recommendations to create a "Go To Box" when experiencing feelings (i.e. anger, sadness, etc) and to create a journal/scrapbook of my 9 year old's life. Both of these are great tools for us to navigate difficult family dynamics and the death of a loved one.

The reason I feel I would recommend Carrie, is because she emotes a caring nature. I love the professionalism that I receive from Johnston Psychological. The entire process, starting with the front desk staff, therapist, and psychiatrist it is such positive experience.

I love the way Carrie shows empathy and a caring mannerism. She is the first therapist, that I have made it past session 2, in more than 15 years. I have always had a problem with not being able to connect with therapist, but it seems that Carrie is doing a great job of meeting me where I am.

She is doing a wonderful job actually, because I keep returning. I usually do not like doing therapy, by that I mean it is super hard for me due to my extreme ptsd. This is the first in over 15 years that I actually feel comfortable. So, she is doing something right...to be continued.
